In a recent YouTube Q&A session, renowned rapper Tshego offered a clear and frank response to rumours suggesting that he may have been exploited during his tenure with Cassper Nyovest’s record label, Family Tree.
Tshego, who gained prominence and built a strong industry reputation during his time with Family Tree, faced speculation about his departure from the label. Despite the success he enjoyed, including several hit songs, some fans questioned whether his exit was due to exploitation by Nyovest and his team.
Addressing these concerns, Tshego firmly stated that he does not feel exploited by Cassper Nyovest. “I don’t feel like Cass exploited me. I feel like during the time we worked together, we worked together amazingly. The whole team was just putting on for each other and doing the most,” Tshego explained.
Tshego acknowledged the significant role Family Tree played in his career, highlighting the valuable opportunities and relationships he developed while at the label. “Family Tree gave me the platform I needed and the experience I required. I met my brother Gemini Major and built a close bond with Nadia Nakai, who became like a sister to me through the whole Family Tree process. I’m really grateful for those relationships,” he shared.

Tshego emphasized that his departure from Family Tree was a professional decision rather than a personal conflict. “There’s no bad blood between me and Cassper Nyovest, at least from my side. Business is business, and it has nothing to do with our personal relationship.
