The infectious hit song “Thula Mabota” by Zee Nxumalo featuring Pabi Cooper has reached a milestone of 500,000 views on YouTube in just 12 months upon the music video’s release.

The plot and story-arch of “Thula Mabota’s” music video supposedly see Zee Nxumalo and Pabi Cooper both respectively embodying the personas of two iconic South African musicians, the late Lebo Mathosa and Thembia Seete of the famous 90s music group, “Boom Shaka”. In doing so, paying reverence to both the stars and reflecting the influence of 90s music in Amapiano.

In as much as Zee Nxumalo and Pabi are lead characters in the song’s music video, 031 Chopper, Shakes, and Les’s contributions can never go unnoticed, with their unwavering talents catapulting the song’s texture.

The concept of the song and video speaks about a lady who is in love with a guy wearing a pink bucket hat, played by Zee Nxumalo and Shakes. At the beginning of the video, the two characters played by Zee Nxumalo and Shakes talk on the phone about the possibility of linking up at a party later that night.

With excitement and humility, Zee Nxumalo took to her Instagram to thank her supportive fans for the video’s milestone, “Thank you for half meter views on YouTube.”
