The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has suspended the membership of KwaDukuza Local Municipality Mayor, Lindiwe Nhaca, for defying party directives. In a statement released by the ANC, the party accused Nhaca of actions that could undermine party unity and weaken its structures.
ANC Provincial Spokesperson Mafika Mndebele confirmed the suspension, stating that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Nhaca. “Comrade Lindi will not be permitted to attend any ANC meetings or municipal gatherings as a representative of the party, nor call meetings under the ANC’s banner,” Mndebele said.
The ANC emphasized that despite the disciplinary action, they are committed to maintaining service delivery in the KwaDukuza Municipality.
